Then, from Runtime Manager, you can optionally add these servers to server groups or clusters to provide high availability. Finally, you can deploy your applications from the Runtime Manager to either a server, server group, or a cluster.<\/li>\n<li>Mule Applications can be run on servers hosted on-premises or in the Cloud.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Why do we need Hybrid deployment?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Anypoint platform\u2019s hybrid cloud functionality, built into the Mule Runtime architecture, allows organizations:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>To run the same APIs or applications across multiple cloud environments or on-premises.<\/li>\n<li>That cannot move to the cloud due to security or compliance reasons to run Mule apps on their own on-premises infrastructure without loss of functionality.<\/li>\n<li>To communicate with servers on their intranet from Mule applications without having to set up a VPC on CloudHub.<\/li>\n<li>Manage runtimes across a hybrid IT environment from a single management view.<\/li>\n<li>Move apps between cloud and on-premises environments without rewriting code.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize shared resources using domain project.<\/li>\n<li>Leverage existing load balancers for vanity domains.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>What is Mule Domain Project?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A Mule Domain Project is implemented to configure the resources that are shared among different projects.<\/li>\n<li>These resources can be used by all the projects associated with this domain.<\/li>\n<li>Mule applications can be associated with only one domain, but a domain can be associated with multiple projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How can Mule Domain project help in a Hybrid deployment model?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>When you deploy a Mule application with an HTTP Listener to a Mule runtime hosted on-premises, each application needs to be deployed on a different port or you will get an error.<\/li>\n<li>To avoid getting into an error situation, you can deploy a Domain project with an HTTP Listener connection. This Domain project can be referred by all the other applications in the same runtime so you can run all the application on same default port (i.e., 8081) separated by paths. For example, you can have 2 REST APIs running on your on-premises Mule runtime with URLs like `https:\/\/api.mycompany.com\/api\/v1\/first` and `https:\/\/api.mycompany.com\/api\/v1\/second`<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Limitations:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Defining flows, subflows, or any message processors as shared resources is not supported. Domains are not meant to share behaviour. They are meant to share resources only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Mule Domain Project and Hybrid Deployment \u2013 Implementation Steps<\/h2>\n<h3>A. Create a New Mule Domain Project:<\/h3>\n<p>To create a new Domain in Anypoint Studio:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the top menu bar select,\u00a0<strong>File &gt; New &gt; Mule Domain Project. <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2269 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"571\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture1.jpg 984w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture1-300x174.jpg 300w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture1-768x446.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 984px) 100vw, 984px\" \/><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Fill in the same fields as you would with a regular Mule Project: <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2270 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"896\" height=\"441\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture2.jpg 896w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture2-300x148.jpg 300w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture2-768x378.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 896px) 100vw, 896px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>B. Configure Shared Resources by using the Global Elements Tab:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Configure shared resources by using the\u00a0<strong>Global Elements<\/strong>\u00a0tab in Anypoint Studio to first add a module to your domain project and then create a global element.<\/p>\n<p>For example, to add Anypoint Connector for HTTP (HTTP Connector) to your domain project:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the <strong>Global Elements<\/strong> tab, click <strong>Manage Modules<\/strong>: <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2271 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"714\" height=\"462\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture4.jpg 714w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture4-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Add Module<\/strong>: <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2272 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"485\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture5.jpg 669w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture5-300x217.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Search for the module you want to add and click <strong>Add<\/strong> &gt;: <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2273 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"603\" height=\"539\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture6.jpg 603w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture6-300x268.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 603px) 100vw, 603px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>C. Create Global Element:<\/h3>\n<p>After you add the HTTP connector to the domain project, you can create a global element to use as a shared resource:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the <strong>Global Elements<\/strong> tab, click <strong>Create<\/strong>: <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2274 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"684\" height=\"441\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture7.jpg 684w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture7-300x193.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 684px) 100vw, 684px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Select the HTTP Connector and complete the configuration process: <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2275 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"863\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture8.jpg 863w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture8-300x117.jpg 300w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture8-768x301.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 863px) 100vw, 863px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Define the configurable parameters of your global element in the\u00a0<strong>Global Element Properties<\/strong>\u00a0window.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>D. Associate a Mule App with a Domain Using Studio<\/h3>\n<p>To associate a <strong>Mule<\/strong> application with a Domain from Studio, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the Project Explorer or Package Explorer view, right-click the Mule application.<\/li>\n<li>In the menu that opens, click\u00a0<strong>Properties<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From Properties, click\u00a0<strong>Mule Project<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Domain<\/strong> field, select a domain for your project. <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2276 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"926\" height=\"419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture9.jpg 926w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture9-300x136.jpg 300w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture9-768x348.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 926px) 100vw, 926px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>After completing these steps, Studio includes the domain in the\u00a0pom.xml\u00a0for your project<\/li>\n<li>In Studio\u2019s visual editor, you can simply pick the shared resource out of the dropdown list in the <strong>Connector Configuration<\/strong> field of the connector\u2019s properties editor: <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2277 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"392\" height=\"184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture10.jpg 392w, https:\/\/poiseddevelopers.com\/vertex-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Picture10-300x141.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>E.
